A firm date in our calendar 9th – 11th June. We will play each of the other home nations over 3 days. We are restricted to a squad of 18 and there is bound to be competition for places for this popular event.
During February, at the Regional Hockey Field of Murcia, in Santomera, the event will be held
With enough for 2 squads for the World Cup we have entered a team in the Spirit of Masters competition too. We plan to travel out on the 29th September returning to the Northern Hemisphere on the 12th October. More information to follow.
Being bottom of the World and European rankings makes attracting teams to play us difficult. As we improve, we are sure to attract attention from the “bigger” nations. However, the chance to play the Dutch in Holland is too good a chance to miss. We hope to take an expanded squad of around 23 to play at the end of August 27th/ 28th -this ensures everyone get time to stake their claim to an A team place in South Africa.
We are hopeful of attracting a German side to come to Cork in July. We have offered the weekend of the 9th /10th or 16th/17th. Once we have confirmation, we will of course let everyone know.
A continuation of the friendlies of last year sees us return to Nice for another along weekend. This time we will play 3 games over 2 days. On the Saturday we will play France followed later by Italy, on Sunday morning we play Italy again.
We have selected a strong squad from those available – missing only a few to injuries or unavailability with more players joining the group to battle the battle for places is really hotting up.
After the organization of several international events in our Region during 2020 and 2021, last September, in collaboration with HOCKEYMUR, the SPANISH +50 MASTER CHAMPIONSHIP was held in Murcia.
Now it is launching, also with the help of the oldest club in the Region of Murcia (Hockeymur), the INTERNATIONAL WINTER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP MASTER REGION OF MURCIA.
During the weekend of February 25-27, at the Regional Hockey Field of Murcia, in Santomera, the event will be held with the participation of Manzanares (Madrid), Lucentum (Alicante), Hockeymur (Murcia) and the National Team. from Ireland +55 as a guest team.
